 Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and  Research comprising Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College under the  aegis of Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes,  Kolar, is a Deemed to be University declared Under section 3 of  UGC Act, 1956, vide Notification No.F.9-36/2006-U.3(A) Dt. 25th  May 2007, MHRD, Government of India.

 Currently, The University has Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College,  Tamaka, Kolar as the constituent institution. The University  office and the constituent college are located at Tamaka  village,  Kolar and spread over almost 100 acres of lush green  campus.  The college conducts medical courses at Under  Graduate  (MBBS), Post Graduate (MD, MS) and Post Graduate  Diploma  levels

Padma Shri Dr. V. Mohan is an eminent diabetologist working in Chennai for over 30years. Dr. Mohan is the chairman and chief of diabetology at Dr. Mohan's Diabetes specialties centre which is a WHO Collaborating centre for Non-communicable  Disease Prevention and Control and an IDF centre of education. He is also the   president and director of MadrasDiabetes Research Foundation at Chennai.

Dr. Prathap Tharyan, MD, MRCPsych, is Professor of Psychiatry at the Christian Vellore.Prof Tharyan is the Director of the South Asian Cochrane Collaboration.He is an honorary ResearchFellow   at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medical and Work with the Cochrane infectious Disease Group.

 Dr. Sairu was an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at  T.D.Medical college, Alappuzha. Presently she works at government medical college, manjeri, mallapuram. She has thecredit of introducing community based palliative care in the UG cirriculum She has shown keen interest in the promotion of undergraduate medical students in the field of Research. She has a fellowship FAIMER(foundation for advancement of medical education and research) in the year 2009

   Dr.C.Arvind is a Nephrologist who worked at Singapore Genral Hospital, in Singapore and has presented &    published Several Research papers. He workes as a consultant at the Sagar apollo Hospital, K.R. hospital &  SharadaDhanvantri Charitable Dialysis  Centre as a Consultant Nephrologist. He was the president of Nephrology Association  of Karnataka (NAK) in 2008-2009
